Unity Web Player

The Unity Web Player enables you to view blazing 3D content created with Unity directly in your browser, and autoupdates as necessary.

Unity allows you to build rich 3D games with animated characters, sizzling graphics, immersive physics. Then you can deliver the games to the web or as standalone players.

You've probably got Flash installed, which allows you to see some pretty cool things from your browser, but the Unity Web Player produces really impressive results, with excellent smooth running 3D graphics usually seen only in standalone programs.

Unity itself is a Mac development tool for developing 3D games on all platforms, and while that means there are some Apple only releases, there are a lot for Windows too, and all of the browser games are cross platform.

Maybe the worst thing about Unity Web Player is that the high end graphics mean you'll need a pretty fast machine and a good internet connection to load up the games quickly. However, assuming you have this, the plug-in is highly recommended as you won't have seen games that look this good running on a web page before.

System requirements for Unity development

1.Windows XP with SP2 or later; Windows 7 with SP1 or later; Windows 8; Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 or later. Note that Unity was not tested on server versions of Windows and OS X. Windows Vista is not supported.

2.Graphics card with DirectX 9 level (shader model 2.0) capabilities. Any card made since 2004 should work.

3.Using Occlusion Culling requires GPU with Occlusion Query support (some Intel GPUs do not support that).
