BitDefender USB Immunizer
The USB immunizer is BitDefender's response to this growing issue. This small utility is divided in two sections.
The Immunize option allows you to immunize your USB storage device or SD card against infections with autorun-based malware. Even if your storage device has been plugged into an infected computer, the piece of malware will be unable to create its autorun.inf file, thus annihilating any chance of auto-launching itself.
The Immunize Computer slider allows you to toggle the autorun feature On or Off for any removable media (except for CD/DVD-ROM devices). If you accidentally plug in an infected USB drive that has not been immunized, the computer will not auto-execute the piece of malware located on the USB storage device.
Limitations: Runs advertisements for Bitdefender products. Asks for your email on exit for their mailing list. Both can be ignored.

USB Threat Defender
USB Threat Defender with its unique detection and scan technology has become an effective damage control solution for malicious worms and virus outbreaks. It protects the system from various threats and shields it from malware or other external hardware devices. It is not another common antivirus detector; rather its new protection can detect viruses missed by the best antivirus and ensures maximum protection. The definition based scan method detects and cleans threats already installed on user’s PC.
USB Threat Defender is purposed to prevent any harm from passing a removable device to one’s system and meanwhile brings to one’s attention all the suspicious files that may affect the privacy. It provides an uncomplicated interface with almost same set of buttons arranged both in vertically and horizontally. The threat scan tab shows all suspicious files detected as a result of deep scan. In addition to that, the more interesting part of the application lies in the Heal System menu; it is a location where one gets to recover the PC’s functionality prior to malware attacks.
USB Threat Defender works fine in the Windows platform. It’s all the options are indeed configured properly to work on with Windows operating systems. It provides the confidence to its users so that they can hook in a removable device and thus can be benefitted from the portability of data and quick access to information. The application grounds its security on its Pro-active technology and a definition based scan. Indeed it is true that USB Threat Defender does not feature all necessary tools to properly analyze all data. But for the time being, it is promising piece of software. It may have its limitations, but one must go through the trial pack for 30 days and then personally understands its potentiality and efficiency.
